Void II
16" x 20" x 0.5"
Acrylic + Mixed Media on Canvas
A work from The Void series, this piece was created in Caley’s Gowanus studio in 2025. Rooted in ideas of liminality and transition, the painting features a vibrant palette and incorporates various floral elements embedded directly into the surface. A red square at the bottom left represents a door that has already been walked through and closed, while a white square above it signals a door not yet entered, one whose other side remains unknown. The recurring motif of stars suggests a sense of drifting, evoking the vastness and disorientation of the void that exists between departure and arrival.
